A Month for Hope
This blog post will be a bit different than the others, in that I would like to take a moment to appreciate some Canadian, and ultimately world, history. In Canada, we celebrate and honour the enduring impact of Terry Fox. Terry Fox was 18 years old when he had been diagnosed with cancer and forced to have his right leg amputated above the knee. At just 19 years old he was determined to raise money for cancer research in hopes of ending the suffering of so many. To do this,

August: A Resilient Mindset
Hello lovelies! Happy August! For those in the Northern Hemisphere, you may be gearing up for the back-to-school season this month and enjoying those wonderful summer weeks before the new school year. Though I don’t wish to rush away summer, I would like to provide your family with some tools to help with any back-to-school jitters. For families in the Southern Hemisphere- this will be helpful for you too! If trepidation IS in the air, please know that this is normal and oka

July: Sun Breath
Hello everyone! It's summer time here in Canada and while it's boiling hot today ( 44 decrees Celsius /111 Fahrenheit) I thought it would be nice share an activity with you and your family Instead of an activity requiring a great deal of exertion, let's try some gentle but invigorating sun breathing! This technique was developed by Hatha and Vinyasa yoga and connects your movement with your breath. This is one of my favourites! I find it's a helpful way to start or end the

June : Building Self-Efficacy
Hello everyone! Welcome back or Hello for the first time! This month's resource focuses on the concept of self-efficacy - similar to, and more commonly referred to, as 'self belief'. Happiness is a beautiful feeling. It can be short lived, or enduring and it's something we often hope comes around for frequent visits. But what researchers have found is that our baseline of contentment is strongly correlated with noting the PROGRESS in our lives, as opposed to perfection (Al

May Breathwork
Hello lovelies, It's been a rainy one over in this part of the world and the grass is green and gorgeous. The rain and greenery had me thinking about the commonly heard phrase, 'April showers bring May flowers!" This is my inspiration for today's tips. Personally, April felt like an emotional whirlwind and I've continually had to bring myself back to the present moment. I was swinging between imagination and reality much more than usual. One moment I felt like I was caught

April Glimmers
Hello and happy April! This month I wanted to focus on 'glimmers' I know that this term (by Deb Dana) is becoming more and more popular, but you've likely been practicing 'glimmer hunting' for longer than the term has been around (2018)! If you're someone who enjoys looking for beauty in the world, you're someone looking to practice gratitude, or even someone trying to find acceptance or neutrality instead of pain, you may already be noticing glimmers. Glimmers are typica

March Family Activities
Hello everyone! As a Canadian, living in Ontario, I can safely say that we've endured a LOT of snow. While I'm grateful for the chance to skate, and marvel at the landscape, I'm ready for the return of spring. If you're in the northern hemisphere, a sun enthusiast, a flower enthusiast, or maybe just a 'I-cant-stand-another-day-of-winter' type, I have some activities to to kick start your spring! First, with a nod to St. Patrick's day, I've included a treasure hunt. The impl
