A Month for Hope

2 min read

This blog post will be a bit different than the others, in that I would like to take a moment to appreciate some Canadian, and ultimately world, history. In Canada, we celebrate and honour the enduring impact of Terry Fox. Terry Fox was 18 years old when he had been diagnosed with cancer and forced to have his right leg amputated above the knee. At just 19 years old he was determined to raise money for cancer research in hopes of ending the suffering of so many. To do this, he would run across Canada, beginning in Newfoundland. Terry ran for 143 days, raising millions of dollars before the cancer returned and spread. He stopped in Thunder Bay, Ontario. After passing away, Terry's mother, Betty, and brother, Darrell, continued the fundraiser- continued the fight- and started the Terry Fox Foundation. To date, more than 1 billion dollars have been raised. New developments for ending the disease are being made as we speak. Because people have hope,

When you have hope, you have the motivation to fight the good fight.

Sometimes we're bogged day by the day to day grind and we need help to fight whatever good fight we're facing. It's not always easy to keep hope alive but it's an incredibly helpful tool for our wellbeing.

Let's look at some ways to help you and your family access hope and keep hope alive.
